What is your favorite thing about travel?
My favorite aspect of traveling is experiencing the different cultural foods that are unique to each place. Understanding where their main food groups are sourced and methods of preparation make the experience feel very special and intimate.
When you plan a trip, what do you seek out in an adventure?
When planning a trip, I want to seek out the must see sites and activities that are recommended by other travelers. I try to go into each trip with a “yes woman” attitude and take on any adventure or experience that is offered to me. I especially love hiking and outdoor adventures.
Cusco, Peru
What was your most recent trip? What did you do?
My most recent trip was a wellness retreat created for healthcare providers in Cusco, Peru. The trip consisted of participating in traditional Peruvian ceremonies, practicing mindfulness, gratitude, and connecting with Mother Earth. We also hiked to Machu Picchu, visited an alpaca wool factory, and explored the nearby cities.
What was your favorite part of the trip?
My favorite part of the trip was learning about the special relationship the Peruvian people have with Pachamama (Mother Earth). I also loved being a part of a group of strangers who quickly became close friends.
What are your must-haves when you pack for a trip?
Must haves for a trip is anything that can make those long flights more tolerable (eye mask, ear plugs, sleep meds). I like having a piece of home like a small blanket.
How do you decide what clothing/accessories to pack?
I like to look up packing recommendations from people who have visited the area on google, Pinterest, and TikTok. If the weather varies a lot, layers are a must. Comfortable walking shoes that can go with casual outfits or dressy outfits. I always wear my divine feminine necklace on every trip because it reminds me to stay grounded and present in the moment.
